The departement of LOT

Activities in the Lot

The department of Lot is a tourist mecca, some sites are visited by more than one million persons, such as Rocamadour.

Some of the many activities that you will find close to your accommodations:

• Numerous caves and chasms often with prehistorical paintings,  for example: the cave Pech Merle, Rocamadour, Padirac.

• Wines of Cahors.

• Many villages listed among the « most beautiful villages in France »: Autoire, Loubressac, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Capdenac-the-top, Cardaillac, Carennac.

• Natural Park of the Quercy.

• Animal Park of Gramat.

• For amateur astronomers : Part of the Quercy is known for it’s very limited amount of light pollution and allows for beautiful night sighting.

• For Egyptology lovers: The visit of the Champollion museum in Figeac.

• The Vézère valley comprise of tons of historic sites: The shelter Patarel, The Micoque, Laugerie-Haute and  Laugerie-Basse, Lascaux, Moustier, Cap Blanc…

• 10 villages listed among the « most beautiful villages in France »: Belvès Beynac-et-Cazenac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Domme, Limeuil, Monpazier, La Roque-Gageac, Saint-Amand-de-Coly, Saint-Jean-de-Côle, Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère.

• The regional park Périgord-Limousin.
